The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to name Lovie Smith as their next head coach.

The 55-year old Smith coached the Chicago Bears from 2004-2012, compiling an overall record of 81-63, including three NFC North titles, and an NFC Championship in 2006.

Smith previously served as linebackers coach for Tampa Bay from 1996-2000, before moving on to the St. Louis Rams, where he became defensive coordinator.

Smith replaces Greg Schiano, who was let go after compiling an 11-21 record in two seasons at the helm.

The Buccaneers haven't made the playoffs since 2007.
