The downward spiral continues for Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucs coach Greg Schiano is benching quarterback Freeman for rookie Mike Glennon this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Schiano has hung Freeman "out to dry" with the media several times over the last month, informing the Tampa Bay Times that Freeman had overslept for several meetings, and missed the Buccaneers annual team photo. Rumors swirled that Freeman was voted team captain by his teammates, but Schiano manipulated the votes, assuring that Freeman could no longer represent the Bucs as an offensive captain. Since arriving as head coach in 2012, Freeman and his head coach have rarely seen "eye to eye."

A week and a half ago, reports surfaced that Freeman, in the final year of his contract, would likely ask for a trade out of Tampa.

Tampa Bay has gotten off to an 0-3 start this season, and are among the league leaders in pesonal foul and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Glennon was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft out of NC State. He will make his first start Sunday at home versus Arizona.
