Pat Gillick, then General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, made a blockbuster trade during the 1990 Major League Baseball winter meetings, acquiring second baseman Roberto Alomar, from the San Diego Padres. On Sunday, they were both inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame, along with former pitcher Bert Blyleven.
