South Alabama is parting ways with head basketball coach Matthew Graves, the school announced earlier today.

"I met with Matthew this afternoon and have informed him that I am going to make a change," said USA Athletic Director Joel Erdmann at a Jaguars spring football practice.  "I have a great deal of appreciation and respect for Matthew and his service to our university over the past five years, and wish him and his staff the best moving forward."

Graves never had a winning season in 5 years with the program, finishing with an overall record of 65-96, and a Sun Belt Conference record of 36-58.

South Alabama's season ended yesterday at the Sun Belt Conference tournament in New Orleans when they fell to Troy 69-62.

A national search for Graves' replacement begins immediately, according a press release from the school.
