Lexie Elkins and Alea Craighton each drove in three runs and Louisiana took advantage of free baserunners to defeat McNeese State 11-3 at Lamson Park Sunday afternoon.

The sixth ranked Cajuns (14-0) scored four times in the top of the first inning and were never headed as they went unscathed through the Ragin' Cajuns invitational at Lamson Park.

The Cajuns jumped on starting pitcher Jamie Allred in the first inning with a solo homer by Hayley Hayden and a two run double by Craighton giving the Cajuns a 4-0 lead.  After Hayden's leadoff homer the Cajuns got two runners aboard on hit batsmen before Craighton tripled home a pair of runs and scored during a rundown.

McNeese State came back in the bottom of the inning against starter Jordan Wallace, with Erika Piascatelli hitting a two run homer..  But that would be the biggest noise the Cowgirls would make during the game.

Shellie Landry's RBI double increased the Cajuns' lead to 5-1 in the second inning and the Cajuns got another run in the third on four walks.  Craighton's sacrifice fly made the score 7-1 in the fourth and Elkins' blast highlighted a four run fifth to put the game away.  The Cajuns had seven hits in the game, but also drew seven walks and had four batters hit by pitch.

Christina Hamilton came on in relief after the first inning and allowed only a solo homer to Taylor Goree.  Hamilton won her third game of the season without a loss, allowing just the one hit while striking out three.

The Cajuns will get their toughest test of the season next weekend when they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on #3 Alabama.  All games will be heard on ESPN1420.
