In a move that will surprise many, Butler's Brad Stevens is leaving the college ranks to become the head coach of the Boston Celtics.

Stevens has been the head coach of the Bulldogs for six seasons and twice took his team to the NCAA championship game.

He replaces Doc Rivers, who is now the coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Stevens was 166-49 in six years at Butler, who joins the reconfigured Big East conference this year.
