Congratulations are in order for a former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball standout.

Shellie Landry, who played for Louisiana from 2013-2016, is joining the coaching staff at McNeese for the 2020 season.

A former prep standout at St. Thomas More, Landry, who served as a team manger in 2017, before spending the 2018 season with the Cajuns as a grad assistant, joins McNeese, after serving one season as a volunteer assistant at UAB.

A four-year starter in the outfield for the Cajuns, Landry was a three-time first-team All-Sun Belt selection, as well as a firs-team All-Louisiana pick in her senior year.

Landry's best season was as a junior in 2015, when she hit a .372, to go along with 20 home runs and 59 runs batted in, earning her second-team NFCA All-American honors.

We wish Shellie nothing but the very best in her new position at McNeese.
