The 12 players range from ages 20-35, some are collegiate players, while others have (but don't currently) played in the NBA.

Joining Long on Team USA is the following: Ron Baker (Wichita State/Scott City, Kan.); Malcolm Brogdon (Virginia/Atlanta, Ga.); Bobby Brown (Dongguan Leopards, China/Los Angeles, Calif.); Ryan Hollins (Sacramento Kings/Pasadena, Calif.); Keith Langford (UNICS Kazan, Russia/Fort Worth, Texas); Taurean Prince (Baylor/San Antonio, Texas); Anthony Randolph (Lokomotiv-Kuban, Russia/ Pasadena, Calif.); Kaleb Tarczewski (Arizona/Claremont, N.H.); Romelo Trimble (Maryland/Upper Marlboro, Md.); Denzel Valentine (Michigan State/Lansing, Mich.); and Damien Wilkins (Indios de Mayagüez, Puerto Rico/Orlando, Fla.).

“It’s a group of hard-working guys who have done a great job in camp of really playing together and being unselfish,” stated Gonzaga and U.S. team head coach Mark Few in a press release. “They came into camp with a great attitude and mindset to really work, and now we’ve got to start formulating and playing to our strengths. This is a group that’s got some versatility, and I think we should be able to play a couple different ways."

Long, who quickly got a congratulations from his head coach at UL in Bob Marlin, is coming off an impressive junior season in which he averaged a double-double (16.4 points, 10.2 rebounds).

Long is is one of only three players in school history to accumulate 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. He is also second all time in blocked shots.

The two-time 1rst team All-Sun Belt is the NCAA active leader in career double-doubles. Before he expands that number, he'll represent Team USA from July 21-25 at the Pan Am Games.
