Rounds 3-10 of the Major League Baseball Draft were held yesterday and there were plenty of names to recognize, from LSU, Tulane, the state of Louisiana and the Sun Belt.

Three were taken in round three:  Ivan Wilson, an outfielder from Ruston HS, was tabbed by the New York Mets (76), Catcher Stuart Turner (77), a native of Eunice who played this past season at Ole Miss was tabbed by Minnesota and LSU's JaCoby Jones (81) was taken by the Pirates as an outfielder.

In the fourth round, Sun Belt Player of the Year Jordan Patterson (109) went to Colorado, Sam Houston State's Cody Dickson (119), who defeated Louisiana's Ragin; Cajuns in the Baton Rouge Regional was drafted by the Pirates, and LSU's Mason Katz (125) was taken by St. Louis.

In round seven, South Alabama closer Kyle Bartsch (204) went to Kansas City, while LSU's RHP Nick Rumbelow (224) was drafted by the Yankees.

In the eighth round Tulane lefty David Napoli (256)) was selected by Washington.  In round nine, LSU pitcher Will Lamarche was drafted by Detroit and former LSU player Chad Jones, (285) who survived a terrible car accident after the NFL Draft a couple of years ago, was drafted as a LHP by Cincinnati. Jones was recently released by the New York Giants.

Arkansas State's RHP Daniel Wright (315) went to Cincinnati in the 10th round and Tulane SS Brennan Middleton (316) was taken by Washington.

Rounds 11-40 will be held today starting at 11am.
