It's widely believed the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast Conferences are the two deepest leagues in college football this year.

And the rankings bear that out.

The SEC has six schools in the latest Top 25 in both the AP and USA Today/Amway coaches' poll.  The ACC has six in the AP, and five in the coaches' poll.  Each team has three schools in the top ten.

The Big 10 has four teams, but all of them are ranked in the top twelve.

The two polls agree on 24 of the schools in the poll.  The AP has Virginia Tech ranked 25th, while the coaches' poll welcomed undefeated Western Michigan.

LSU was ranked 26th in the coaches' poll and 28th in the AP
