The field of 64 shrunk yesterday as elimination games were played around the country.

Rain washed things out for the day in Hattiesburg.  Today USM meets South Alabama, while Mississippi State takes on UIC in an elimination game.

Fort Worth, rained out on Friday, began play Saturday with Virginia beating Dallas Baptist 6-3, while TCU knocked off Central Connecticut State 9-6.

And in Palo Alto, which is a day ahead of the rest, #2 seed Cal State Fullerton defeated #1 seed (and #8 national seed) Stanford to win that region.

All of the other regionals had their second day of action.  The following teams were eliminated yesterday:  Ohio U, Marist, St. John's, Radford, UCF, Michigan, UMBC, Oklahoma State, Texas Southern, Delaware, Baylor, UCLA, BYU, Nebraska

These teams are now 2-0 in the tournament and in the driver's seat in their regions. Their regional seed is in parenthesis:  (3) NC State, (1) Florida, (2) Vanderbilt, (1) Louisville, (3) Auburn, (4) Davidson, (1) Wake Forest, (2) Missouri State, (1) LSU, (1) Texas Tech, (3) Texas A&M, (2) Texas, (2) Cal State Fullerton, (1) Oregon State.
