A big day for the App State defense, and Caleb Evans has a career day for ULM.  Here's what happened Saturday around the Sun Belt Conference.

LOUISIANA 21, IDAHO 16--The much maligned Cajuns' defense held Idaho to just one offensive touchdown in breaking a three game losing streak.  Andre Nunez' touchdown pass to Ja'Marcus Bradley in the third quarter gave the Cajuns an eleven point lead and the defense finished the job.  Both teams are 2-3, 1-1 in league play.

APPALACHIAN STATE 45, NEW MEXICO STATE 31--The Mountaineers broke upen a close game late as App State's defense intercepted NMSU's Tyler Rogers six times in the game.  Jalin Moore ran for 241 yards in the contest for the Mountaineers, who trailed going into the fourth quarter.  App is now 3-2, 2-0 in the league, while NMSU is 2-4, 0-2.

ULM 45 Texas State 27--Caleb Evans threw for a career high 433 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Warhawks to their third straight conference victory.  ULM broke open the game in the third quarter when Evans scored from 10 yards out and then hit Marcus Green with a 67 yard touchdown pass.  Warhawks are 3-2, 3-0 in the Sun Belt while Texas State falls to 1-5, 0-2.

GEORGIA STATE 27, COASTAL CAROLINA 21--The Panthers got off to a good start when Glenn Smith returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a score and Connor Manning did the rest, throwing for 273 yards and a touchdown.  It was the league opener for Georgia State, now 2-2 overall.  Coastal is 1-4, 0-2.
