One of the Saints best players returned to the practice field Wednesday, 4 days before the season kicks off.

Starting left tackle Terron Armstead (knee/quad) had not seen the field since leaving the third preseason game in the first half with an injury. He was back on the field today, a positive sign for a team in desperate need of their best offensive lineman.

Armstead was limited today, but being that he practiced at all is a good sign he'll play Sunday barring a setback.

Tight end Chris Manhertz (head) practiced in full, though he was listed on the injury report.

Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (quad) did not practice.

New Orleans kicks off the season this Sunday at noon when they host the Oakland Raiders.
