New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd spoke to the media for the first time since mini-camp today, telling fans to "hang in there".

Byrd has not played since week 5 of the 2014 season, having several injury setbacks since his knee surgery a season ago.

Byrd (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice, as was quarterback Drew Brees (shoulder).

Brees missed last Sunday's game with a bruised rotator cuff on his right throwing shoulder. He practiced throwing balls yesterday and today. Will he play Sunday against the Cowboys?

"That's four days away, and I feel like I'll just continue to make progress and go from there," explained Brees after practice.

Joining Brees and Byrd on the "limited in practice" list was wide receiver Brandin Cooks (ankle), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and cornerback Keenan Lewis, who told media in attendance that he would be playing Sunday.

Guard Jahri Evans (knee) did not practice Wednesday, and has practiced since week 2. Defensive end Cameron Jordan (back) did not practice either.

New Orleans (0-3) is seeking their first win of the season. Sunday, they host the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) for a primetime matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
