The New Orleans Saints got a huge overtime road victory in week three over their NFC South rivals, the Atlanta Falcons. With the win, New Orleans moved to 2-1 on the season.

In addition, with said win over the Falcons on the road, the Saints got a nice bump up in the weekly power rankings this week, take a look:

Last week the Saints ranked ninth and this week they've jumped up to fifth in the latest ESPN NFL Power Rankings.

The Top Five is as so:

  1. Los Angeles Rams (3-0) Steady at 1
  2. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) Up one from 3
  3. Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) Up two from 5
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) Down two from 2
  5. New Orleans Saints (2-1) Up four from 9

The LA Rams we knew were going to be good this season with all the additions they made this offseason and the continued development of their young players but the KC Chiefs have really been the surprise. I don't think anyone could have, in their right mind at least, predicted what we've seen so far from Patrick Mahomes, this offense has been explosive.

For the Saints, it was more of the same, a lot of Drew Brees, Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara with the defense doing just enough to help secure the victory in ATL last week.
