New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins tore his Achilles in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

With an open roster spot and needed depth at defensive tackle, the Saints reportedly signed New Iberia native and Westgate product Tyrunn Walker today, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

This is Walker's second stint with the team, as he broke into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2012 with New Orleans.

After 3 years with the Saints, he signed with the Detroit in 2015, playing 2 seasons with the Lions.

Last year, he played with the Los Angeles Rams.

Walker signed the Buffalo Bills at the beginning of the 2018 preseason, but was released when the team trimmed down to 53.

He's accumulated 85 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries in his NFL career.

Today, Walker goes from free agent to preparing for an NFC Championship game with his home team.
