According to multiple reports, the New Orleans Saints have signed veteran wide receiver Josh Morgan.

Morgan was given a tryout by New Orleans during the club's rookie minicamp this weekend. The 7 year veteran out of Virginia Tech left enough of an impression to make the 90 man roster. He'll need to make an even bigger impression during training camp and the preseason to make the regular season 53 man roster.

Morgan, 29, spent last season with the Chicago Bears, and the previous two seasons before that with the Washington Redskins, but didn't make as big an impact as he did with the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2008 draft.

In 4 seasons with the Niners, Morgan reeled in 131 catches for 1,764 yards and 9 touchdowns.

The addition of Josh Morgan may confuse a few broadcasters. Joe Morgan is a current player on the Saints roster who play the same position.

After the weekend's minicamp, the Saints also signed offensive lineman Antonio Johnson out of North Texas, kicker Zach Hocker out of Washington and wide receiver Kyle Prater out of Northwestern State.
