The New Orleans Saints made a move to bolster their secondary on Wednesday.

The team signed safety D.J. Swearinger, a 7-year veteran.

The 28-year old Swearinger played four games with the Arizona Cardinals this season, and four more with the Oakland Raiders, compiling 48 tackles.

A second-round selection out of South Carolina by Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL Draft, Swearinger has spent time with the Texans (2013-2014), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2015), Cardinals (2015-2016, 2018-2019), Washington Redskins (2017-2018), and Raiders (2019).

In parts of 7 NFL seasons, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Swearinger has totaled 409 tackles and 14 interceptions.
