The New Orleans Saints have released a couple of players from their roster prior to their rookie minicamp, which is scheduled for Friday-Sunday.

The Saints released tight end Jake Stoneburner, while also waiving defensive end/linebacker Royce LaFrance.

Both players were inked to reserve/future contracts by the Saints in early January.

Stoneburner, who joined the Saints practice squad in September, entered the league in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State, before spending time with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, the 27-year old Stoneburner has accumulated 5 catches for 47 yards and two touchdowns, all with the Dolphins, in 2015.

LaFrance, who played collegiately at Tulane, before going undrafted in 2016, spent two weeks on the Saints practice squad the past season.

A native of New Orleans, the 23-year old LaFrance has yet to appear in an NFL game.
