The New Orleans Saints welcomed back an old friend on Wednesday.

Jermon Bushrod, who spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints (2007-2012), left the team following the 2012 campaign, after signing a five-year, $35.9 million deal with the Chicago Bears.

A native of King George, Virginia, Bushrod spent three seasons with the Bears (2013-2015), before playing the last two years for the Miami Dolphins.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Bushrod signed a one-year deal to return to the Saints back in March, prior to being released last Saturday.

The 34-year old Bushrod, who played his college football at Towson, was drafted in the the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by New Orleans, where he became a starter in 2009, and a Pro Bowler in both the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Ola was among the team's final cuts two weeks ago, before being re-signed last week.
