Saints Lose Pro Bowl OL Andrus Peat With Broken Arm
The New Orleans Saints lost their game this past Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. A major factor in that loss? The inability to get anything going on offensively with little protection for Drew Brees.
On Wednesday, the Saints lost again as Pro Bowl offensive lineman Andrus Peat suffered a broken arm in Sunday's game and had surgery to repair the damage. The expectations are that Peat will miss six weeks while he recovers.
Peat had played at a Pro Bowl level once again this season and had started all nine games in 2019. He's also in the final year of his rookie contract after he was the 13th overall pick by New Orleans in the 2015 NFL Draft and is scheduled to hit the free-agent market in March.
We'll see who's the next man up in Peat's absence, Will Clapp had a rough game filling in on Sunday. Other options could include their free-agent signing this past off-season in Nick Easton, veteran Patrick Omameh, or rookie Ethan Greenidge.
