The New Orleans Saints continue to roll.

The Saints moved their current win streak to 6 games on Sunday, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-10, in an NFC South contest at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 6-game win streak is the longest for New Orleans since the 2011 season, when they ended the regular season winning their final 8 games.

The Saints lost their first two games of the season, but have since piled 6-consecutive triumphs.

New Orleans got on the scoreboard first. scoring on the first possession of the game, when Wil Lutz kicked through a 40-yard field goal, capping off a 12-play, 58-yard drive, to give them a 3-0 lead at the 8:54 mark of the opening quarter.

The Saints' special teams came up big at the 6:31 mark of the opening frame, when Justin Hardee recovered a blocked punt in the end zone, giving them a touchdown.

The PAT was blocked, however, and New Orleans held a 9-0 advantage.

Tampa Bay went scoreless until the 3:03 mark of the second quarter, wen Patrick Murray kicked through a long 50-yard field goal, ending a 10-play, 40-yard drive, to trim the deficit to 9-3.

The Saints scored the final points of the first half with only :55 remaining, when Drew Brees connected with Alvin Kamara on a 33-yard touchdown pass, concluding 7-play, 93-yard drive, to give them a 16-3 lead, an advantage they would take with them into the locker room at halftime.

New Orleans outgained Tampa Bay in the first half, in terms of total yards, 217-88, including a 178-55 advantage in passing yards, as well as a 39-33 edge in rushing yards.

Brees led the Saints in the first half, completing 15 of 19 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown.

New Orleans picked up right where they left off in the second half, scoring on their first possession of the half, when Kamara put the exclamation point on a 6-play, 72-yard drive, with a 6-yard touchdown down, to extend their lead to 23-3 at the 9:59 mark of the third quarter.

The Saints put the game completely away at the 9:39 mark of the third quarter, one play after the defense forced a turnover, when Brees hit with Ted Ginn with a 36-yard scoring strike, to make it 30-3.

The Buccaneers scored their first, and only touchdown of the game, at the 6:48 mark of the third quarter, when quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who played the entire second half, in place of the injured Jameis Winston, threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Luke Stocker, wrapping up a short 3-play, 19-yard drive, to make the score 30-10.

It was far too little, too late, however, as the Saints cruised to the 20-point victory.

New Orleans outgained Tampa Bay, in terms of total offensive yards, 407-200, including a 251-113 advantage in passing yards, as well as a 155-87 edge in rushing yards.

Brees led the way for the Saints, completing 22-of-27 passes for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Mark Ingram added 77 rushing yards on 16 carries.

In a losing cause for the Buccaneers, Fitzpatrick threw for 68 yards and one score.

With the victory, New Orleans improved to 6-2 on the season, while Tampa Bay, who has now lost 5-straight, dropped to 2-6.

The Saints return to action next Sunday, when they hit the road to face the Buffalo Bills.
