On Tuesday the New Orleans Saints hosted linebacker Gerald Hodges in hopes of adding potential depth to a position that just lost Alex Anzalone last week due to a shoulder injury. Pro Football Talk reported the news via a league source.

Hodges, 26 was initially drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He played the previous two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. In total, he played in 25 games while making 16 starts. He was pretty productive in those two years where he accounted for 83 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble.

This past spring he was signed by the Buffalo Bills as a free agent and even made the final cut to the 53 man roster. Unfortunately, he was let go due to additional waiver claims by the Bills.

For his career he's accumulated 224 tackles, three and a half sacks, and three interceptions.
