The Saints are apparently bringing back a familiar face.

The team is expected to resign veteran cornerback Sterling Moore, according to the New Orleans Times Picayune.

Rookie starting cornerback Marshon Lattimore injured his ankle in Sunday's 34-31 overtime win over the Washington Redskins, and the Saints likely want to add some depth.

There is no word on who Moore would replace on the roster, but the obvious guess is defensive end Alex Okafor, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Sunday, and is lost for the rest of the season.

The 27-year old Moore appeared in 13 games for the Saints last season, including 12 as a starter, totaling 56 tackles and two interceptions.

The 5-foot-10, 202-pound Moore played in two games for the Saints earlier this season, before being released on October 25.

A native of Antioch, California, Moore played his college football at SMU, before playing for 5 different NFL teams.

Over parts of 7 NFL seasons, Moore has compiled 181 tackles and 6 intercetions.
