The New Orleans Saints and the Baltimore Ravens faced off in New Orleans in week 4 of the preseason with the Ravens winning 14-13 after Wil Lutz missed a 59 yard field goal that would have won the game. To the fans it may have seemed like just a regular preseason game but for some players on each team, it may have been their last shot to prove something to their coaches as the each NFL team has to cut their rosters from 90 to 53 players by late Saturday afternoon.

The Saints had a few players that were on the bubble of making the roster and getting cut like Travin Dural who hadn't gotten a ton of playing time but he a decent game against the Ravens with 4 catches for 56 yards. He led the team in reception yards but was behind Travaris Cadet in receptions.

The Saints fell behind early in the 1st half as the Ravens scored the first 14 points of the game. The Ravens scored with 7:39 left in the 1st quarter to go up 7-0 and would score with just over 3 minutes to go in the 1st half. The Saints would cut into the Ravens lead with a touchdown pass from Chase Daniel to Josh Hill to make it 14-7.

The Saints nor the Ravens could muster much offense in the 2nd half with the Saints only scoring 6 points. The Saints defense held the Ravens to 0 points in the second half but the Saints would ultimately fall short in the game after Wil Lutz missed a 59 yard FG attempt as time expired.

The Saints finished off the preseason with a 2-2 record but they did produce their first preseason win in quite some time when they beat the Chargers in week 2 of the preseason. The Saints will open up the regular season on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings.
