The New Orleans Saints got back to their winning ways this past weekend as they got revenge on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a 28-14 victory. With the win, they clinched back-to-back NFC South titles.

Last week the Saints ranked as the second most powerful team in the NFL and with the win, they got back to the top spot this week's rankings ESPN NFL Power Rankings.

The Top Five is as so:

  1. New Orleans Saints (11-2) Up one from 2
  2. Kansas City Chiefs (11-2) Up one from 3
  3. Los Angeles Rams (11-2) Down one from 2
  4. Los Angeles Chargers (10-3) Up one from 5
  5. New England Patriots (9-4) Down one from 4

A couple teams who made big moves this week were the Cowboys after their win at home against the Saints as they came back with another win against the Philadelphia Eagles as they rose from 11th to 8th in the rankings. The Miami Dolphins also rose up a bit from 20th to 17th after their miraculous win at the buzzer against New England. As far as a team who fell was the Denver Broncos who lost to the San Francisco 49ers last week, they went from 15th down to 18th.

The Saints continue their journey for the #1 seed in the NFC this week at the Carolina Panthers who have faded in not only the NFC South but in the NFC in general. This is the first time these two divisional opponents will play this season and will see them again in two weeks.
