The New Orleans Saints have added a wide receiver to their receiver core on Wednesday in the form of free agent Chad Hansen.

Hansen was drafted by the New York Jets in 2017 in the 4th round, 141st overall. He played just that one season for New York playing in 15 games with one start where he caught nine balls for 94 yards.

The Jets waived him at the beginning of the following season coming out of training camp and he spent all of last season bouncing around various teams (New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and Denver Broncos).

Hansen is out of the University of California where he had a stellar junior season hauling in 92 balls for 1,249 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In corresponding moves, New Orleans waived rookie cornerback David Simmons and placed rookie linebacker Chase Hansen on the reserve/non-injury list to make room for newly acquired cornerback Keyvon Webster.
