NFL rookies have been showing out early and often this season but in week four there was a bit of a Louisiana twist. Three out of the five Rookie of the Week candidates have a bayou tie to them.

Leonard Fournette. You may remember him well LSU Tiger fans as he rumbled over SEC competition for a few years at Baton Rouge. In week four, the now Jacksonville Jaguars running back accumulated 145 yards from scrimmage to go along with a touchdown. Thus far through the early stages of his career Fournette has totaled 285 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Through the air he's brought in 12 receptions for 125 yards and a score as well. Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell has also come out and said, "I love watching him run."

Alvin Kamara. I don't think we can state enough how much Sean Payton loves deploying this rookie running back in all kinds of creative ways to better the offense. This past week in London, Kamara accounted for 95 yards from scrimmage, 71 of which were via the passing game while reigning in 10 Drew Brees passes including a touchdown.

Elijah McGuire. This former UL Ragin' Cajun had himself quite the coming out party this past Sunday. McGuire finally got an opportunity to show his stuff for the New York Jets, entering the game as the back-up running back due to Matt Forte being out and injured. He had a limited number of chances but boy did he make the most of them. He did so to the tune of 131 scrimmage yards which included a 69 yard touchdown scamper, featuring a nifty jump cut and a burst of speed.

The other two candidates this week are Houston Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson and San Francisco 49ers defensive end, Solomon Thomas.
