Redemption for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns against their in-state rivals, Louisiana Tech as they defeat the Bulldogs 9-4 on Tuesday night.

The Cajuns came out of the gates fast in this one as they put pressure on starting pitcher David Leal, Daniel Lahare began the game with a double. From there it was Hayden Cantrelle who laid down a beautiful bunt that would go for a single and then Leal threw the ball away which allowed Lahare to score, 1-0 UL.

Gavin Bourgeois followed suit with another bunt and sure enough Leal uncorked another one down the line again that allowed Cantrelle to score this time and it was quickly 2-0 Cajuns. After that Bourgeois would come home to score on a manufactured run produced by a Hunter Kasuls sacrifice fly. Louisiana lead 3-0 after their first turn at bat.

The Bulldogs with their first turn at bat wouldn't go down quietly as they looked to continue their success from last week against Austin Perrin. Tech put runners on the corners with nobody out but Perrin was able to make a pitch to induce a ground ball from Mason Mallard that scored one run and that would be it. Tech cut into the lead but Perrin limited the Bulldogs to just one run. 3-1 UL after one inning.

Right from there the action continued, it was another throwing error by Leal that allowed catcher Kole McKinnon to reach base and stole second with Windham batting. Windham would strike out and then Lahare would clutch up with a two out RBI single to score McKinnon from second. The Cajuns now lead 4-1.

Austin Perrin would start to settle into a groove after his first inning troubles by setting down the next 12 Bulldog batters he would face through four innings.

In the fifth it was more production from the top of the lineup as Lahare continued his offensive hot streak during this game, reaching base for the third straight time with a lead-off double. Cantrelle would do his job and moved him over with a sac bunt, Fontenot would reach on an infield single, and then Bourgeois would score Lahare with an RBI ground out. 5-1 UL.

We zoom to the seventh inning where the Cajuns would look to add onto their lead, Cantrelle would lead off the inning with a double. Bourgeois failed to get the bunt down, Kasuls grounded out, Fontenot walked, and then it was Monroe Moll who hit for Todd Lott and came through with an RBI single. That increased UL's lead to 6-1 over LA Tech.

To follow suite the Cajuns would tack on three more runs in the eighth inning as Hunter Kasuls had the big hit, a two-RBI single to give him 30 RBI's on the season. Louisiana now led it 9-1.

Austin Perrin was brilliant in this game after his worst performance of his college career against this same Louisiana Tech team less than a week ago. He pitched eight innings, allowed five hits, one walk, and struck out three.

Louisiana Tech would go on to tack on three runs in the ninth against Michael Leaumont as the Cajuns win 9-4.

With the win the Cajuns move to 23-19 on the year and will be back home to take on the New Orleans Privateers Wednesday at 6pm.
