The first day of 2017 NFL free agency is here and the Saints will sign two players who were members of the Carolina Panthers last year.

According to ESPN, 25 year old linebacker A.J. Klein and 31 year old wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. are expected to sign with New Orleans.

Terms of both deals are currently undisclosed.

Klein has played in 60 games since 2013 (his rookie year), including 23 starts. NFL.com compares him to former Saints linebacker Scott Shanle. (For more on Klein, click here)

Ginn Jr. comes to the Saints with the expectation that speedy wide receiver Brandin Cooks will be traded soon, leaving a hole for a deep threat in the wide receiving core.

Ginn Jr. has played 10 seasons with 4 different franchises (Miami, San Francisco, Arizona, Carolina). His career numbers (255 receptions, 3533 yards, 21 TDs receiving) are only part of the story, as he's been a big part of special teams throughout his career.

His 8,746 returns yards on punts and kicks and 7 return touchdowns shows his value as a return man, something the Saints have been missing.

At 31, does he have enough tread left on his tires to help New Orleans?
