According to Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune, the New OrleansSaints are bringing back wide receiver/kick and punt returner Brandon Tate.

Tate signed with New Orleans during training camp, showing off his skill set in the return game.

With several impressive kick returns, many pundits felt Tate had a good chance to make the final 53 man roster. He was one of the first players reportedly cut when the team began trimming down the roster from 90 to 53 on the Saturday before the regular season.

Saints wide receiver and special team returner Tommylee Lewis was injured in the week 2 win over Cleveland, landing on injured reserve two days later.

In last Sunday's win in Atlanta, the Saints used QB/utility man Taysom Hill on kick returns, with running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. handling punt return duties.

As a 9 year veteran, Tate has carved out a niche as a special teams returner much more than his work as a wide receiver.
