The New Orleans Saints began their three day mini-camp this morning, while their largest player was not in attendance.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, New Orleans Saints 6'4, 359 pound nose tackle John Jenkins is OUT after undergoing minor pectoral surgery, though he should be ready for training camp.

Sean Payton was asked about the report today but made it clear he wouldn't discuss injuries.

"We're really not going to hit on any of the injuries," said Payton. "We'll fill you in when we get to training camp."

Jenkins did not participate in OTAs, remaining silent on whether he had suffered an injury.

A third-round draft pick out of Georgia, Jenkins playing a key role during his rookie campaign of 2013, helping forge the Saints defensive line up front. Starting 5 games at nose tackle, Jenkins saw action in every game last season, tallying 21 tackles while eating up multiple blockers up front.
