Veteran cornerback Sterling Moore tested free agency waters, but ultimately remained in the pool with the Saints.

According to Josh Katzenstein of Nola.com, Moore is returning to New Orleans on a one year deal.

The cornerback unit was decimated by injuries a season ago, thrusting Sterling Moore from late preseason signee to starter.

Moore started a dozen games in 2016, setting career highs in tackles (56) and passes defensed (13), finishing the year with a pair of interceptions as well.

He broke into the league on Oakland's practice squad as an undrafted rookie in 2011, working his way onto the Patriots roster in 2012.

After 3 years with the Cowboys, Moore joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015, then signed with the Buffalo Bills last year.

Buffalo cut Moore at the end of preseason. That's when New Orleans signed him, giving him significant playing time.
