The New York Mets will hire former All-Star outfielder and Mets alum, Carlos Beltran, to be their next manager, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan, and first reported by MLB.com.

Beltran, who played 20 years in MLB (7 with the Mets), has served as a special assistant for the New York Yankees for the last year.

His managerial role with the Mets will be his first in MLB.

Beltran replaces Mickey Callaway, who was fired on October 3rd.
