New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is suing a San Diego jeweler for $9 million, according to a report from TMZ.

Vahid Moradi operates the CJ Charles jewelry shop in San Diego. Brees is alleging in his lawsuit Moradi sold him jewelry over the years for over $15 million, but a recent appraisal of the jewelry indicates he spent over $9 million in actual value.

In the suit, Brees and his wife Brittany claim Moradi assured them the overall value of the jewelry would increase in future years and that Moradi was dishonest over the course of each sale.

Per TMZ, the most notable item was a 4.09 carat blue diamond ring. It was appraised of late for an estimated value of $3.75 million. However, Brees purchased the diamond in 2015 from Moradi for $8.18 million.

Moradi's attorney, Eric George, issued the following statement regarding the lawsuit.

"Drew Brees aggressively purchased multi-million dollar pieces of jewelry. Years later, claiming to suffer 'cash flow problems,' he tried to bully my client into undoing the transactions. Mr. Brees's behavior and his belief that he was wronged because the jewelry did not appreciate in value as quickly as he hoped both demonstrate a lack of integrity and contract basic principles of both economics and the law. He should restrict his game-playing to the football filed, and refrain from bullying honest, hard-working businessmen like my client."

According to the lawsuit, in addition to the $9 million in damages, Drew and Brittany Brees are also suing Moradi for $244,000 that was used to pay for a watch, but ended up changing their mind. Moradi did not return the money, allegedly saying he would give them store credit.
