It appears as though all of the 2019 LHSAA Select Division championship games won't be held at Cajun Field after all.

A report by Andrew Clay and KATC yesterday stated that quarterfinal losses by Opelousas Catholic and Vermilion Catholic forced a change in the plans.

Cajun Field has long been assumed as the host site for the title games in the Select Division, which will enter semifinal action this Friday.

Prior to this season, all state title games were held in New Orleans.

So, where will the title games be held then?

Well, the highest-seeded team remaining in each classification will have the option of where each title game is held.

St. Thomas More, Catholic High-New Iberia, and Lafayette Christian are the Select Division schools remaining.

The report states that STM, if they defeat St. Louis on Friday night, would host the Division II championship game at Cougar Stadium, while LCA would host the Division III title game at Cajun Field, provided they win in the semifinals.

Catholic-New Iberia is the lowest-seeded team remaining in Division III, so they cannot be the highest-seeded team remaining.

The championship games in the Non-Select brackets will continue to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
