3-on-3 basketball is played in backyards and gyms everywhere. Now it'll be played at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

According to an AP report, 3-on-3 basketball is one of 60 proposed sporting events up for approval by the IOC this week, and is a favorite to be activated.

FIBA rules will call for a 12 second shot clock, no coach, and all played in a half court setting. A few differences will be no make-it-take it rule in place, and players won't have to check the ball once getting to the top of the key.

Don't expect NBA pr WNBA All-Stars to take part. The current U.S. men's 3-on-3 team consists of D-Leaguers.
