Every year since its inception in 2009, the Ragin' Cajun Athletic Foundation has set records each year for contributions to the general fund.

And, it could be on its way to another record.

The University of Louisiana announced today that contributions to the General Fund have surpassed the two million dollar mark for the second straight year.

The RCAF had contributions to the general fund totaling $2.16 million last year.  This year, the total is $2.11 million with three months remaining in the year.

Those contributions have come on the heels of another successful athletic year for the Ragin' Cajuns.  The 2014 football team won its fourth consecutive New Orleans Bowl championship, men's and women's basketball both reached the post season and baseball and softball both participated in the NCAA Super Regionals for the second straight year.  The Cajuns' athletic program was recently rated 44th in the nation based on those accomplishments.

The unrestricted funds have been used for personnel salary increases and the master plan for athletics among other things.  Tier one of the master plan, which included an expansion of Cajun Field, a new locker room for soccer and track and field, and the new Athletic Performance Center which opened last week, has now been completed.
