Memories are made during senior seasons, but Ragin' Cajuns Wide Receiver Devin Scott is going to have to sit on the sidelines for all of 2016.

Scott was entering his senior year as a Ragin' Cajun, playing for Head Coach Mark Hudspeth, and he was expected to be a reliable contributor and a deep threat in a revamped offensive scheme. At Sun Belt Media Day, Coach Hud broke the unfortunate news that Scott tore the patellar tendon in his knee, and he will miss the entirety of the 2016 season.

As a true freshman, Scott played in nine games, as a sophomore he played in every game, and last year he collected 202 receiving yards as a junior. His blinding speed had the potential to take the top off defenses, but Coach Hud and his staff won't be able to call his number this year.

It's not all bad news. He will still have a chance to finish out his career as a Cajun, he will just have to wait.

Since Scott never redshirted, he has the ability to come back and play a full season next year after rehabbing his knee. Hud fully expects to have Scott back on the field for the 2017 season, where he will be able to write his final chapter.

Send some strength to Scott, Cajun Nation. Rehab work isn't fun, and no athlete likes sitting on the training table with doctors poking and prodding them. Progress is slow, but it goes by faster with support.

Get well soon, Devin. We will see you back on Cajun Field next year, you'll just be one year wiser.
