According to multiple reports, Texas Rangers' designated hitter Prince Fielder is medically disabled and will not play again.

Fox Sports was the first to report the news.

Fielder had season ending neck surgery last month.  He hasn't played since July 19th when an MRI showed the problem.

Fielder is just 32 years old.  He was hitting just .212 this season with eight homers and 44 RBI.  Ironically, he will finish his career with the exact same number of home runs (312) as his father, Cecil Fielder.
