With a 6% chance to win the #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans ping pong balls bounced right.

Duke phenom Zion Williamson is the consensus #1 overall pick, and barring anything out of the ordinary, will be drafted by New Orleans.

Following months of trade speculation after Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis requested a trade out of New Orleans, the franchise has fired a general manager, hired David Griffin as executive vice president of basketball operations, improved their medical staff with the hiring of renowned trainer Aaron Nelson, and now, have won the NBA Draft lottery.

Ironically, Williamson is the highest rated draft prospect since Davis came out of Kentucky 7 years ago, the last and only time the New Orleans franchise has owned the first pick in the draft.

The Memphis Grizzlies beat the lottery odds and will pick No. 2, while the New York Knicks will pick third and the LA Lakers will pick fourth in the 2019 NBA draft on June 20.
