The New Orleans Pelicans added a voice in the locker room by signing Kendrick Perkins to a one year deal for the veteran minimum.

Perkins' roll on the court might be in limited minutes and mostly as an injury insurance, his presence on the bench and at practice surely played a major part in his addition to the squad. "Big Perk" is always one to mix it up and bring and edge, and he never lets a teammate go undefended. He might be the perfect thing to toughen up Anthony Davis too.

Perkins' time with the Celtics, Thunder and Cavs proves his postseason experience, which is something the Pels dearly would like to add as they work their way into the hyper competitive Western Conference hierarchy.

He might not grab a ton of rebounds. He certainly won't sink a ton of shots. Hell, he might not even see the floor in most games. Either way, Perkins' addition will help this roster. Well played, Dell Demps and Alvin Gentry.
