In need of help backcourt help, the New Orleans Pelicans have signed guard Jordan Crawford to a 10 day contract, the team announced today.

Crawford, a 6'5, 195 lb. guard out of Xavier, was the 27th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the New Jersey Nets.

Crawford hasn't played in an NBA game in 3 seasons. While his career average in scoring is 12.2 points per game, his shooting average in 257 NBA games is poor (career 40.5 FG% and 30.3 three point FG%).

Likely to come off the bench, the Pelicans are in desperate need of back court scoring, something Crawford will try to provide.

He will wear #4 and is available to play tonight against the Utah Jazz.
