Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans were average last week going 2-2 but they dropped two of three games at home. They were able to salvage the one road game they had this week at the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.

New Orleans continues to slide in the weekly rankings and currently sit at 20th, three spots down from where they were last week as the team is currently 14-14 on the year.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Golden State Warriors (18-9)-Up two from 3
  2. Toronto Raptors (21-7)-Down one from 1
  3. Milwaukee Bucks (17-8)-Down on from two
  4. Oklahoma City Thunder (16-8)-Up one from 4
  5. Philadelphia 76ers (18-9)-Up two from 7

It was the same sort of week for the Pels as they had last week staying steady at .500 but the problem was that the team lost two of three games on their home floor. They lost 129-126 to the Los Angeles Clippers and 107-103 to the Memphis Grizzlies, both teams have played better than most expected they would coming into this year.

This week New Orleans has three games starting with Monday's contest at the Boston Garden to take on the Celtics. Then, the team travels back to the Blender to face the Oklahoma City Thunder, enjoy a little break and finish the week off at home when they welcome in the Miami Heat on Sunday.
