Pelicans F Quincy Pondexter Talks Post Surgery Rehab, Anthony Davis Ceiling

New Orleans Pelicans forward Quincy Pondexter admitted his rehab from surgery coming is "coming along slow, but coming along really well", in a recent interview on the SiriusXM radio program Off The Dribble.

Pondexter underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in early May. He has not been cleared to participate in basketball activites. It is currently unknown if he'll be able to participate in trianing camp which begins September 29th.

"I've been really focused on my body and getting it in the best shape possible right now, even though I'm hurt," said Pondexter. "I'm looking forward to this season and I'm hoping to not miss much time, if any time at all. I'm looking forward to having a lot better season than I did last year."

Pondexter offered unbridled praise for his superstar teammate Anthony Davis.

"Anthony's the real deal," explained Quincy. "The thing (is), he still has so much potential to go. I think about 25 to 30 percent better he could get. That's kind of scary because he's already one of the top players in the NBA, if not the best."

Pondexter came to the Pelicans from the Memphis Grizzlies in mid January as part of a three-team trade. He spent his rookie season with New Orleans before playing the next three and a half in Memphis.

The 5 year veteran out of Washington averaged 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23.9 minutes per game for both the Pelicans and Grizzlies last season.
