Anthony Davis scored a game-high 34, while Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday combined for 50 points off the bench, helping the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night, 121-114.

New Orleans scored 71 points in the first half, looking like they would cruise to victory over the 8 win 76ers. However, Philadelphia put together a comeback attempt in the 2nd half as the Pelicans offense slowed down at a noticeably slower rate from the first 2 quarters.

In the end, Davis was too much for Philly, who trailed from start to finish.

"Jrue had a stretch where he made a lot of really good plays for us," said head coach Alvin Gentry. "A.D. had a great game, as did Ryan Anderson."

Holiday finished with 24 points, 12 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds, while Anderson chipped in 26 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.

Pelicans center Omer Asik did work on boards, pulling down 14 rebounds in only 20 minutes of action.

New Orleans improves to 21-33 with the victory.

"I've been in the NBA 27 years. I've never had a bad win," said Gentry. "There's some things we have to work on, but wins are tough to come by. We'll take it and enjoy it."

The Pelicans hope to enjoy a rare road win this Sunday when they travel to Detroit for a matinee matchup with the Pistons. Tip-off is set for 2:30.
