Pelicans Acquire Jarnell Stokes In Exchange For 2nd Round Pick
The New Orleans Pelicans were attached to many trade rumors as the NBA trade deadline struck, but in the end, only made one small move.
Jarnell Stokes, a 2nd year player out of Tennessee who has played for the Memphis Grizzlies and most recently the Miami Heat, is heading to New Orleans, along with $700,000. Miami receives a Pelicans future 2nd round draft pick in the deal.
Stokes has played in 26 NBA games with Memphis and Miami, posting a career average of 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds a game.
At 22 years old, the 6'5, 255 lb has played in 16 games for the NBA-D league's Sioux Falls Skyforce, earning a spot in the NBA-Developmental League All-Star game.
He has 1 year left on his contract following this season.
