In one season with the New Orleans Saints, Parys Haralson joined a defense that transformed itself from worst in NFL history, to a top 10 unit in 2014. He'll return to the vaunted unit, inking a one-year deal with the Saints earlier today.

Haralson fit right into Rob Ryan's 3-4 scheme, playing linebacker on the edge, showing a nice blend of speed and power. He played in all 16 games of the regular season, starting in 8, registering 30 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Haralson joined the Saints late in training camp last season, coming to New Orleans from San Francisco in exchange for a 7th round draft pick. The Saints were dealing with a number of injuries to the position, leading to the trade.

Parys is coming off an injury himself, tearing his pectoral muscle in the Saints wild-card playoff road win against the Philadelphia Eagles. He's expected to be completely healed this summer.

At 6'0, 225 pounds, he's tailor-made for a 3-4 defense. Last season was his first away from San Francisco, but he picked up Ryan's defensive schematics quickly. He'll battle Victor Butler and Junior Gallette for playing time.
