The Green Bay Packers signed former Ragin' Cajun DL Justin "Juice" Hamilton to their practice squad, and he already has some friends up north.

Juice joins fellow Cajuns Christian Ringo and Alonzo Harris on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, which means Cajun Nation might have to send them a care package with plenty of spice to deal with the cold winter ahead. Green Bay takes "gumbo weather" to a whole other level, but Hamilton is just glad to get to practice with an NFL squad.

Harris made the 53-man roster with his efforts during the offseason, and Ringo and Hamilton will now be hitting the sleds together on the practice squad.

Packers General Manager/Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson sees something in these Cajuns. He even game Wide Receiver James Butler a shot on the practice squad earlier this year as well.

The minimum salary for a practice squad player is $6,600 per week, which means Hamilton could make over $60,000 before the end of the regular season if he can stay healthy and help the Packers in practice. Green Bay is gearing up for a playoff run too, so he could make even more than that playing football if the cards play out right. Not too bad for playing the game you love.

It's good news all around. Hamilton gets to hang out with his buddies Ringo and 'Zo again, and the Packers are developing a nice working relationship with the Ragin' Cajuns. It's the type of connection universities work to create, and the folks in Green Bay are loyal.

We just hope they're making the best of their Cajun care packages. Make that boudin and smoked sausage last, guys. You won't be finding it on any shelves where you live now.
