Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun running back Alonzo Harris was released by the Green Bay Packers today, according to multiple reports.

Harris' roster spot was filled by running back John Crockett, who was signed from Green Bay's practice squad.

This season, Harris carried 4 times for 19 yards, and was activated for 6 games.

He made Green Bay's active roster after an impressive training camp. As an undrafted free agent, he beat out Crockett and former Packer RB Rajion Neal.

If Harris clears waivers, he could very well sign with the Packers practice squad, essentially swapping spots with Crockett. If he does, the practice squad will have a Louisiana feel.

Former Ragin' Cajun defensive lineman Christian Ringo is currently a member of Green Bay's practice squad, while former Cajun DL Justin Hamilton spent time on the Packers practice squad earlier this season.

Green Bay plays at Detroit tonight.
